At Peña Clinic, we offer non-invasive cosmetic procedures and primary care services. We specialize in injectable cosmetic treatments, laser procedures, preventative health, and management of common chronic conditions. All of our treatments and services embody evidence-based practice medicine, utilizing safe and effective practices. MEET THE TEAM

Dr. Alvaro Peña,

MD

Dr. Alvaro Peña is a board-certified Family Medicine physician who has been serving patients since 1987. He completed his undergraduate studies at Loyola University, earning a Bachelor of Science, and then attended medical school at the University of Illinois. Dr. Peña completed his residency at Rush Presbyterian Medical Center after medical school.

Dr. Peña is currently on staff at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital and brings over 35 years of experience to his practice. He is deeply committed to patient-centered care, focusing on managing chronic diseases and promoting preventive care to help his patients maintain optimal health. Known for his compassionate and thorough approach, Dr. Peña takes the time to build trusted relationships with each of his patients.

Fluent in Spanish, Dr. Peña is able to provide care to a diverse patient population. Outside his medical practice, he enjoys jogging and staying active in his free time.

Lisa Peña,

APN

Lisa Peña is a board-certified family nurse practitioner who practices both family and aesthetic medicine. She has 2 bachelor’s degrees from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana and Loyola University Chicago. She started her career in medicine as a pediatric nurse and completed her master’s degree to become a nurse practitioner at Loyola University Chicago in 2018. She is a great listener and takes her time with patients during their visits. She values education and seeks out many educational opportunities in order to continue bringing her patients the latest and safest techniques. In her spare time she enjoys ballroom dancing and competing in ballroom dance competitions.

Rosa Mendoza,

APN

Rosa Maria Mendoza is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner who graduated from Chamberlain University in April 2023. With over five years of experience as a registered nurse in various clinical settings, Rosa brings knowledge and compassion to her practice. She is dedicated to ensuring patients are well-informed and empowered to make confident and realistic decisions about their health. Rosa is Fluent in English and Spanish and is committed to providing exceptional care to a diverse patient community.

Jessica Nevarez,

MA

Jessica is our most senior certified medical assistant who has been working for Peña Clinic since 2010. She is an excellent phlebotomist and is our lead person for coordinating and completing insurance quality studies as well as vaccine inventories. She is fluent in Spanish. In her spare time, she enjoys watching her 3 sons play baseball and having mother-daughter dates.

Angelica Lazaro,

MA

Angelica is a certified medical assistant who has been part of the Peña Clinic team since 2022. She really enjoys working with children and feels fulfilled in caring for the needs of others. She is fluent in Spanish. In her free time, she enjoys shopping and spending time with her little family of three.

Jacky Soto,

MA

Jacky is our incredible nursing student who is currently pursuing her BSN. She is 1 year away from completing her program. She also works as a patient care technician at a hospital. Despite her busy schedule, she always has a positive attitude and plenty of determination. Jacky values bringing comfort and charisma to her patients. She is fluent in Spanish. In her free time, Jacky enjoys going to the gym, specifically weight training sessions, and she enjoys empowering other women through her training expertise.

Lesley Muneton,

MA

Lesley is a certified medical assistant. She enjoys being a phlebotomist and helping elderly patients. In her free time, she enjoys shopping and watching new releases at the movies. A fun fact about Lesley is that she also loves getting her lashes done!

Marylou Santillan

Marylou joined Peña Clinic as the Referral Coordinator in 2023, bringing valuable experience from her previous role handling ROI and medical claims. Currently, she works closely with patients’ insurance providers to ensure seamless connections to the right specialists. Marylou is fluent in Spanish, which allows her to serve a diverse patient population better. Outside work, she enjoys exploring new coffee shops and sampling different coffee styles.
